PhD in Political Science and Administration from the Complutense University of Madrid. He is currently a Specialized Advisor in the area of social policy at the Economic and Social Council of Spain and associate professor at the Nebrija University. He has been a visiting researcher at the Institute of Latin American and Caribbean Studies of the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina), the Center for Latin American & Caribbean Studies of the University of Illinois (USA) and the Institute of Political Science of the University of the Republic (Uruguay). His work focuses on the analysis of welfare systems, with special emphasis on income transfer policies, social security schemes, conciliation and co-responsibility policies, and children's policies. He has been a researcher and professor at the Complutense University of Madrid, specializing in dynamics of institutional change, social policies and development and cooperation, both in Spain and Latin America.
MOVICON is dedicated to the study of political strife from a broad perspective, which includes social movements and cycles of protest, but also other more punctual or extensive forms of collective action, from riots to revolutions through armed conflicts and democratization processes, without losing sight of other more routine ones, such as elections or parliamentary work.
